details of print from the original copies, made for the project "Yngve Zakarias" in
SIKSI no 1/1992, the Nordic art review, Nordiskt konstcentrum/The Nordic Arts Centre, Helsinki,
Excerpt from the text of editor Timo Valjakka
"Zakarias prints from the wooden blocks as they are. He endows the insignificant,
useless objects with a new dignity by transfernng the story drawn on the wood's
surface onto paper, and into the realm of art.
Zakarias himself remains discretely in the background. He is like a Medieval
printer, a mediator of knowledge. His no-nonsense aesthetic is akin to the
harsh way of the homeless and the refugee; nothing is thrown away and
anything that can be reused is kept for later."
