LILIES AND ROSES at the Zucchi Collection Museum, Milan, 14-19 April 2010, IL PASSATO RINNOVATO
Lilies and Roses is an animation of the patterns from printing blocks. The Zucchi Collection Museum, Milan, keeps a large collection of printing blocks in wood that have been used in the textile printing industry through 3 centuries.

For Lilies and Roses, a unique and well preserved series of 5 blocks were scanned. Each block had originally been made for a different colour. The resulting shapes were animated in the computer as video.

A selection of 3 Lambda laserprints mounted on aluminum is shown here, as well as the video animation. Lilies and Roses prints mounted on aluminium measure 60 x 40 cm.
